Peregrine attends the HedgeBrunch Club Networking Breakfast

Hedge brunch by Peregrine Communications

Peregrine attended the recent HedgeBrunch Club Networking Breakfast in force on the third of September. The remarkable Grosvenor House Apartments by Jumeirah Living, Mayfair, played host to 50 select HedgeBrunch guests for networking over breakfast and coffee.

With guests ranging from Hedge Fund managers and business development professionals, pension fund allocators, family offices and start-up managers, Jersey Finance were in attendance to deliver a talk on ‘AIFMD – Where are we now?’. Peregrine, meanwhile, spoke to guests about how marketing communications campaigns centred around quality content can result in a strong brand capable of raising and retaining assets under management (AUM). With the implementation of AIFMD, this trend is only set to continue given the requirement of US managers to rely on reverse inquiries meaning that, more than ever, investment managers need to build an identifiable and understood brand.

Located in a penthouse suite overlooking Park Lane and Hyde Park, the event began with an opportunity for guests to network over breakfast, before Kenetic Partners’ Andrew Shrimpton and Jersey Finance’s Richard Nunn illuminated the still opaque world of AIFMD regulations. Covering multiple areas including fund size, domiciliation, pass-porting, reverse-solicitation, marketing and capital raising (an area close to Peregrine’s heart), the talk was illuminating at a time when hedge fund managers are still trying to get their heads around the complexities of the AIFMD world and how to communicate properly.

The event finished with a prize draw for a night’s stay in the sumptuous Jumeirah Living appartments.

HedgeBrunch will be hosting an invite only breakfast event on the 29th of October, a private dinner in November and three large December events in London, New York and Zurich.

Peregrine is looking forward to the next HedgeBrunch event.

“The talk was illuminating at a time when hedge fund managers are still trying to get their heads around the complexities of the AIFMD world and how to communicate properly.”
