Geoffrey Hilliard

Senior Adviser, Investor Communications

Geoffrey Hilliard has had a long and varied career, spanning research, investment management, marketing and general management in the financial sector, both in the UK and Continental Europe.

He has been involved in investment management for many years, firstly as a fund manager, and more recently on the marketing and distribution side, and most recently with leading fund of hedge funds manager, K2 Advisors, where he was head of their European office, responsible for marketing and distribution across the whole of the EMEA region.

He began his career as a research officer at the National Institute of Economic and Social Research in London, before moving into the financial sector as an economist for Phillips & Drew, where he wrote and edited publications for their wide client base. As chief economist in Amsterdam for Pierson, Heldring & Pierson, a Dutch merchant bank, he led a team of economists, which was recognised as a leader in the analysis of the Dutch economy and markets. He then changed track and moved into fund management, joining CSFB Investment Management, where he was an executive director and also a non-executive director of CSFB Ltd. This was followed by a period as head of asset management at GIB and then he moved to Putnam Investments, where he was responsible for sales and relationship management in the Middle East and German-speaking Europe.

Geoffrey has degrees in Economics, Statistics and Econometrics. With his strong technical background and the experience he has gained in alternative investments, managing derivative-based asset and liability management programmes and latterly working in funds of hedge funds, he is ideally placed to advise clients in the communication of complex investment strategies.

Fellow of the Royal Statistical Society and member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment and the Royal Economic Society.
